Voice Of The Whistler
 
     Sometimes referred to as "radio's master of mystery," the radio series was heard over the CBS radio network from 05/16/42 to 09/08/55.  Bill Foreman was The Whistler in the radio series.  To see the audio CD's from this series that are available, click here: The Whistler.
 
     This is the fourth of eight feature films in the series.  Released on 10/03/1945, the story line is that John Sinclair (played by Richard Dix) is suffering from bad health and no friends.  He is advised by his doctors, that he only has a few months to live and should to go to Maine.  He convinces his nurse Joan Martin (played by Lynn Merrick) to marry him and he'll leave her his fortune.  His health starts to return, and nurse Joan falls in love with him.  Since he is now not at deaths door her former fiancée wants her back and is upset.  Murder is on the horizon.
 
     Several other radio types are not credited for this production, such as Wilbur Hatch for the music.  Also not credited is the voice of The Whistler, Otto Forrest.  The story line is by the director William Castle and Wilfred H. Pettit and is based on a story by Allan Rader from by the radio program.
